Overview


Mr. Melendres practices in the areas of medical malpractice, product liability, general personal injury and employment litigation. He concentrates on representing hospitals in medical malpractice cases, automobile manufacturers in products liability, and employers in employment litigation.


Mr. Melendres has had a broad range of trial experience, including class actions, over the past 35 years. In addition to his current concentrations, he has represented energy and mining companies in commercial litigation, contract disputes, environmental litigation and real property cases. He has twenty-six reported cases in New Mexico and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Melendres is the President of Montgomery & Andrews, P.A. He is admitted to practice in New Mexico, California (inactive), United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Education


Mr. Melendres is a 1969 honor graduate of the University of New Mexico, and he graduated from Stanford University Law School in 1972. He practiced in Los Angeles for four years with a commercial litigation firm before joining Montgomery & Andrews, P.A. in 1976.
